Alright this isn’t funny anymore.  Another day, another Angel pitcher injury.  After making all of one start, Darren Oliver has been sent to the 15-day disabled list with strained triceps.  Not only does this injury keep a floundering bullpen from getting back a useful piece, it now leaves the Halos without a starter for Saturday’s game.  Fortunately, Oliver’s injury does not seem serious, but another injury was the last thing the Angels could afford.

Even the already injured pitchers are having trouble now, too.  Kelvim Escobar suffered a setback in his rehab and will be transferred to the 60-day disabled list.  The Angels believe he will be ready to return when he is eligible in June, but the move is at least partially motivated by the team’s need to create a spot on the 40-man roster for Matt Palmer who is making a spot start for the Angels today.

The Angels still need to find a starter for Saturday, but have given no indications on who will be getting that assignment.
