Daily Links for the LA Angels including the Rangers might be bluffing on Beltre, Figgins as a potential Beltre fallback plan, the Angels continue to be forcibly linked to Soriano and center and much more…

The Story:  The Rangers may only be showing interest in Adrian Beltre to drive up the price.

The Monkey Says: I’ve been saying this for weeks, but it definitely carries a lot more weight when it comes from a beat writer for the Rangers.  Sullivan was actually the one (if I recall correctly) that even broke the news that Cliff Lee was leaving for Philadelphia, so he really seems to know what he is talking about.

The Story: If not Beltre, then why not a Figgins reunion?

The Monkey Says: This article seems awfully familiar, or maybe it is just the idea.  Bringing back Figgy isn’t the worst idea, but that shouldn’t be on the table until Beltre signs elsewhere.  Frankly, I don’t even know if Seattle would be interested in dealing with the Angels nor do I know if the Halos would really be willing to take on the remainder of Chone’s slightly ugly contract.

The Story:  Assessing potential suitors for Adrian Beltre.

The Monkey Says: This is a highly popular exercise around the interwebs and it seems everyone keeps coming to the same conclusion that the Angels really are the most obvious, and possibly only, landing spot for Beltre.

The Story:  The market for Rafael Soriano.

The Monkey Says: Once again the Angels are listed as a good match for Soriano even though there is no real evidence that they have even talked to Soriano yet.  If they do want Rafael, don’t expect it to happen until after the Beltre negotiations are resolved as Boras represents both players and I can’t imagine the Reagins want to fight a two-front war with the devil himself.

The Story: The best Angel photos of 2010.

The Monkey Says: The term “best” is used loosely since a pic of Kendry Morales crumpled to the ground holding his broken leg is included and that definitely isn’t one of my “best” memories.
