The June 25th, 2013 edition of daily news for the Los Angeles Angels including Trout back in the MVP debate, Angels fans are not paying attention and much more…
The Monkey Says: Trout, Cabrera and Chris Davis are all neck-and-neck in terms of WAR, but I have a hard time seeing the media supporting Trout for MVP when the Angels are playing so poorly. Whether you agree with it or not, the Angels are underachievers and the media writers will use that against him come voting time.
The Monkey Says: Funny, but this happens at every stadium because for some reason people show up for the game even though they don't care about the game. This will all seem commonplace ten years from now when all ballparks have full wifi coverage and half the fans are staring at their phones and tablets the whole game.
The Monkey Says: The concern is definitely cropping up, but there is no need to panic yet as we can still hide behind the excuse of Weaver being out for nearly two months with injury.
The Monkey Says: They'd have to go on an amazing run to put themselves into a buying position at this point. The real question is will they sell and if so, how much will they sell? My hunch is they know they need to sell and will be rather aggressive in shopping guys going into free agency as well as any other guys they deem replaceable.
The Monkey Says: The regression is bound to come, but it seems like he has erased a lot of the doubt that his 2012 campaign created. Well, doubt related to performance. The doubt about him staying healthy is very much alive and kicking.
