The August 16th, 2013 edition of daily news for the Los Angeles Angels including Scioscia gives Butcher a vote of confidence, Angels to focus on pitching this off-season and much more…
The Monkey Says: Wait, how does it work when a manager on the hot seat gives a vote of confidence to a pitching coach on the hot seat? Does it even count? Or is it like a double whammy of doom?
The Monkey Says: This report is brought to you b MLB's newest rumor reporter, Captain Obvious.
The Monkey Says: As do I, but this implementation is pretty screwed up. The manager challenge system is completely arcane with the limitation on using just one challenge in the first six innings. What is so hysterical about it is that MLB admits that even the managers themselves do not want a challenge system, but MLB is going to go ahead with it anyway, presumably due to concerns over game length. Never change, MLB. Never change.
The Story: A prospect retrospective of C.J. Wilson.
The Monkey Says: Definitely an interesting route for a player, especially to see him add so much velocity despite being a college player.
