Halo Headlines: Jerry Dipoto’s job security, Garza waiting on Tanaka

The January 21st, 2014 edition of daily news for the Los Angeles Angels including Jerry Dipoto's job security, Garza waiting on Tanaka and much more…

The Story: The GM Job Security power rankings.

The Monkey Says: Or lack of power, as it would be in the case of Dipoto who is firmly entrenched near the bottom of the list.

The Story: Matt Garza is likely waiting out the Tanaka bidding in hopes of driving up his price with the Angels and D'Backs as prime suitors.

The Monkey Says: Such has been the line of thinking all along which is why it would be nice if Tanaka would just make up his damned mind already.

The Story: MLB Pipeline ranked Taylor Lindsey as the 7th best second base prospect right now.

The Monkey Says: I suspect that won't be good enough to get him on the top 100 list though. If he does, he'll only barely creep on. Yep, this Angel farm system is great!

The Story: MLB Pipeline ranked C.J. Cron as the 3rd best first base prospect right now.

The Monkey Says: This kind of surprises me, but that might just be because I am not a big Cron fan and also because I hadn't realized how thin first base is in the minors right now.
