VIDEO: Camera guy eats it hard trying to film J.B. Shuck home run

Saturday in Detroit, something truly amazing happened: J.B. Shuck, he of the 11 career homers, including the minors, took reigning AL Cy Young winner Max Scherzer deep for a leadoff home run. It was a feat so stunning that the cameraman filming Shuck’s home run trot, tripped and fell hard following Shuck as he turned for home.

The cameraman might tell you that he simply lost his footing, but I prefer to believe that he was in such a state of shock at what he had just witnessed that his brain simply shut down all of his motor functions, thus the embarrassing tumble in the video above.

Boxscore Breakdown Game #17: Sisyphus – Tigers 5, Angels 2

Once again, the Angels had a chance to get over the .500 hump. Once again they failed thanks in large part to Max Scherzer playing the role of the boulder to the Angels’ Sisyphus. Run Expectancy Rundown I’m still trying to figure out how it is we came to live in a world where J.B. […]

Series Preview: Angels vs. Tigers vs. Dead Horses

This is great, the Angels get to face the Tigers! I’m so excited for every columnist in America to rehash the Mike Trout-Miguel Cabrera AL MVP debate. Right or wrong, it happened. TWICE. It’s over. Let’s live in the now. Let’s leave that poor dead horse alone and instead focus on the continued hand-wringing over […]

Second-guessing Scioscia – Week 3

Welcome to Second-Guessing Scioscia! As you might have surmised, it is a look back at some of the questionable decisions that Mike Scioscia made in the last week. This isn’t because we dislike Scioscia, in fact, MWAH is officially pro-Scioscia. However, we do realize that Scioscia is not infallible and hope to use this series to bring […]

Jered Weaver isn’t fooling anyone

Jered Weaver has been decidedly un-Jered Weaver-like this season. The supposed ace of the Angels’ staff is currently bringing up the rear for the rotation right now. While some have been predicting doom for Weaver for a few years now, this rough start has been even worse than anyone could imagine. So what gives? While […]

With Kole Calhoun out, it is time to #FreeMattLong

This spring, I accidentally started (or at least propelled) the #FreeMattLong movement on Twitter. It started off as a lark, but was somewhat legitimized as Long performed well all spring, even as he started facing stiffer competition. The premise was simply that Long was one of the under-the-radar prospects who did a lot of things […]
