Baltimore Orioles v Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim

Dear Mike Trout, don’t do the Home Run Derby

For the fourth straight season, Mike Trout is an All-Star. For the third straight season, Mike Trout is starting the All-Star game. For the first time, there is an Angels player on the starting roster with him, albeit by default, in Albert Pujols. For the second straight season, there is speculation and wonder as to […]

Angels Player Power Rankings – Week 14

This is the first ever Angels Player Power Rankings without Jerry Dipoto in the front office. I don’t want to tip my hand here, but I was VERY tempted to just put Mike Scioscia in spots 1 through 25, because we all know for certain where all the power in the Angels organization now resides.

Series Takeaways: Angels sweep Rangers into oblivion

Boy, was that ever fun. I would have been happy with a series win similar to what we have been used to seeing over the last few weeks. But, hey, by all means, Angels, demolish the Rangers by scoring 33 runs over a three game set. I doubt anyone will complain about being spoiled. More […]

Boxscore Breakdown #82: All the run differential – Angels 12, Rangers 6

All you need to know about this series is that the Angels entered it with a minus-2 run differential and exited the series with a plus-23 run differential. Thanks, Texas! Suddenly the Angels’ Pythagorean record makes them look great. Angels 12, Rangers 6 Run Expectancy Rundown C.J. Cron done and did it again. He didn’t […]

Boxscore Breakdown #80: Bigger in Texas – Angels 8, Rangers 2

Everything is bigger in Texas, even the Angels offense. They hadn’t scored more than four runs in a game since June 19th, then they go and double that up in one game. If I didn’t know better, I’d say they were motivated by the presence of a former teammate or maybe the absence of a […]

Is a Josh Reddick Trade Too Crazy of an Idea for the Angels?

So there I was, just hanging out, painting the seats to a dining room set that is being turned into patio furniture, when I decided to take a break and check out Twitter. This is a regular thing for me, and it is fun to see what new and exciting news is going to lead […]

Series Preview: Angels vs. Rangers vs. Josh Hamilton

It is time to get back to playing baseball. We are all privy to the tumultuous off-field drama the Angels players have been subjected to over the course of the last week. It has been a nightmare, and nothing short of incredibly unfair to the players themselves. So if ever a three game road series […]

Second Guessing Scioscia – Dipoto’s downfall

Welcome to Second Guessing Scioscia, our look back at some of the questionable decisions that Mike Scioscia made in the last week. And, boy, there are some questionable decisions to be reviewed. In the history of this column, we have never once struggled for content. However, we aren’t anti-Scioscia. The official MWAH stance on Scioscia is pro-Scioscia overall. […]

Jerry Dipoto: a successful GM that failed BIG

Jerry Dipoto‘s embattled tenure in Anaheim has come to a premature end. Dipoto leaves behind a franchise now embroiled in turmoil but also a legacy which history will likely look back kindly on. His reign accomplished most everything that he wanted it to in terms of building a long-term foundation for the ballclub, but he achieved […]

Series Takeaways: Angels win series over Yankees amid inner turmoil

Just keep winning series’. That should be the motto for this team. The Angels brass can’t seem to get it’s act together, and it cost them Jerry Dipoto, but if the team on the field can’t just continue to take two out of three from each team they face, then it won’t matter what happens […]
