The Rangers and Angels are playing and for the umpteenth time first place in the AL West is up for grabs. I just can’t take this roller coaster ride anymore. Jane, get me off this crazy thing!
Having now played the Rangers six of the last ten games now with first place on the line in pretty much all of them, the coming All-Star break is coming at just the right time to give the Halos a reprieve from all these tension-filled games. I know my heart could use the time off. Let’s just take the Rangers out tonight and ride into the sunset.
THREE Questions:
- Santana’s velocity was good in his last start but will he find some command tonight to actually be effective for a change?
- Shouldn’t Figgins do his flip tonight in a last ditch effort to earn more votes? Why save it for the All-Star Game when you are trailing in the polls?
- Can the Rangers stop Juan Rivera or can they only hope to contain him? I am licking my chops at the prospect of him getting to face Frank Francisco again.
TWO Predictions:
- Vicente Padilla will still find a way to throw at Vladimir Guerrero’s head even though he won’t be playing tonight.
- It won’t be a pretty performance from Ervo, but he will pick up the win.
ONE Wish:
- I wish the Mike Scioscia hadn’t foolishly played Vladimir Guerrero in the field last night. Dammit.
ZERO Tolerance for… Gary Matthews. He is bound to get the start tonight in place of Vlad, which is only going to drive me crazy. In theory Private Matthews could play well and create some trade value, but then again communism works in theory. Nothing will make me happier than seeing Napoli at DH or Willits in the field tonight.
