Halo Headlines – 10/27/09

  • The Story: Steve Bisheff has his own plan for the Angels off-season roster moves.  The Monkey Says: His plan seems a bit far-fetched as it involves letting Vlad, Figgy and Lackey walk and then somehow finding a way to trade for Roy Halladay and signing Jason Bay.
  • The Story: The Angels are likely to say goodbye to John Lackey but might say hello to Aroldis Chapman.  The Monkey Says: Lackey is as good as gone based on his salary demands but the Angels still need to replace him and Chapman would be a high-risk, high-reward attempt at doing so.
  • The Story: Should Mike Scioscia be blamed for the Angels failure to win the title?  The Monkey Says: Sosh is getting some heat for not tinkering with his line-up more in the post-season, but that seems like an overreaction.  He can be stubborn, but no manager is going to make any moves that drastic in the post-season after preaching about trust and confidence in his own players all season long.
  • The Story: Despite losing to them in the ALCS, not all Angels fans are hating on the Yankees.  The Monkey Says: Don’t count me among that group though.
