Halo Headlines – 10/29/09

  • The Story: Stat guru Bill James calculates his player projections for next year.   The Monkey Says: If James is right, the Angels can expect a lot of fall off in offensive efficiency next season.  Good thing these are just projections.
  • The Story: A quick look at the landscape of suitors for Aroldis Chapman includes many teams with the Angels heavily involved.  The Monkey Says: The Halos are publicly playing a bit coy with their interest in Chapman, but it makes a lot of sense for them to go after him.  Expect their interest to ratchet up once they see him workout.
  • The Story: AngelsWin.com won’t let the ALCS loss sully a great season for the Halos.  The Monkey Says: They are right, but it is just a little too early for a lot of fans to admit it since the loss is so fresh, in time we will all see what a great year they had, then again, we will all likely see that this was also the best chance at a championship they are going to have for a while.
  • The Story: Should the Angels trade Gary Matthews for Milton Bradley? The Monkey Says: Ummmm… HELL NO!!!  Bradley is a clubhouse cancer and that is the exact opposite of what the Angels need right now.  They need a fun-loving free spirit in the clubhouse not a ticking time bomb.  The Halos already tried the volatile slugger experiment with Jose Guillen and we all saw how that ended.
