Halo Headlines – 6/24/10

  • The Story: Jason Bulger is getting close to a return.   The Monkey Says: That would be welcome news.  The pen has actually held up well without him, but another live arm never hurt anyone.
  • The Story: Where is Torii Hunter’s All-Star support?   The Monkey Says: Hunter isn’t going to come close to being voted into the game and could need real help just to be picked as a reserve.  Someday the Angels are going to learn how to emulate all the ballot box stuffing tactics teams like the Rangers employ.
  • The Story: Confidence showing for Wood at the plate.   The Monkey Says: I said it yesterday and I’ll say it again today.  Let’s not get too excited until he lifts his average over the Mendoza Line.
  • The Story: Bobby Wilson doesn’t make waves.   The Monkey Says: Wilson really has no reason to gripe over playing time, so I am not sure why we are shocked that he isn’t.  Like any good rookie, he’s just happy to be here.
  • The Story: Vin Scully calls the Dodgers’ dumping of Mike Scioscia a “mistake for the ages.”   The Monkey Says: I really miss the old days when team announcers like Scully could call out their own team without fear of repercussions.
  • The Story: A Mickey Mouse decorated in Red Sox paraphernalia was vandalized.   The Monkey Says: The statues are part of the All-Star Game festivities.  I really hope they find out who did this if only so I can buy the suspect a beer.
