Daily links for the LA Angels including Bourjos named PCL Rookie of the Year, Angels announce their AFL prospects, Napoli unsure about his future in Anaheim and much more.

The Story: Peter Bourjos was named PCL Rookie of the Year.

The Monkey Says: No shocker there as Bourjos was demolishing the PCL at the time of his call up.  I would hope he could compete for AL Rookie of the Year in 2011, but it looks like he is probably going to get too many at-bats this season to qualify.

The Story: Brandon Wood will join Ryan Brasier, Robert Fish, Stephen Geltz, Eddie McKiernan and Andrew Romine in the Arizona Fall League.

The Monkey Says: Geltz and McKiernan are the names to watch here as they are both up and coming closer prospects.  I suppose you could watch Wood too, but that might be hazardous to your health.

The Story: Mike Napoli isn’t sure about his future with the Angels.

The Monkey Says: Nor should he be.  As I wrote yesterday, the Halos don’t appear to know what to do with Naps and I ultimately think that will lead to them choosing to punt on him by trading him away this off-season.

The Story: Why does everyone love the “Scioscia Face?”

The Monkey Says: Sadly, watching Scioscia mug throughout the game might be the most entertaining aspect of this current Angel team.

The Story: Eddie Bane chats about the Angels farm system.

The Monkey Says: Bane refused to speculate on when Mike Trout would reach the majors, but he did mention that Jean Segura could eventually move to shortstop so that he and Alexi Amarista don’t end up blocking each other.  It also seems that Bane is exceptionally high on Mark Trumbo.
