Daily Links for the LA Angels including the Manny signing report is officially bogus, several Angel prospects tabbed as sleepers, plenty of big questions still loom for the Angels and much more…

The Story: The report of Manny signing with the Halos is officially declared bogus.

The Monkey Says: Which I think we all predicted, but it is nice to have confirmation.  It is worth noting though that this doesn’t mean that the Angels have no interest in Manny.  Those rumors appear to have legs, but what they will lead to is anyone’s guess.

The Story: John Sickels includes several Angel prospects amongst his sleeper picks for 2011.

The Monkey Says: Amarista seems like an odd choice since, at least amongst the Angels organization, he is highly thought of, though I know he doesn’t rank amongst their top five prospects on most expert lists.  I also find it funny that Chaffee is back on the list after he was a bit of a surprise sleeper in 2009 before falling off the map in 2010.  I guess he is a re-sleeper.  Jon Bachanov and Carlos Ramirez also made the list.

The Story: 5 big questions face the Angels in 2011.

The Monkey Says: I like that two bonus questions were tacked on as afterthoughts since it seems kind of obvious that the absence of a true closer or leadoff man were wrongfully admitted from the original five questions.  Well done.

The Story: The Angels Booster Club is holding a fundraising dinner tonight.

The Monkey Says: If this is something you are interested in, go for it.  Personally, I question why a team with a $135 million payroll needs boosters and fundraising.  This isn’t the USC Trojans we’re talking about here (their budget is only ($115 million).
