There wasn’t an aspect of tonight’s game that the Angels didn’t excel at sucking at. They couldn’t hit, field, throw or run the bases with any real conviction or ability tonight and let the Dodgers jump all over them. The pitching was lousy and the decision making was even worse. If I were in attendance I would have asked for my money back. Let’s just call it one of for the scrap heap and move on.
Game Notes
— Tyler Chatwood let me down tonight. I had been lured into a false sense of optimism and I guess he was due for one of his rookie moments. Chatwood had no movement on his fastball tonight and as a result, got hit a lot. He doesn’t yet have the cofidence to rely on his secondary pitches when the Number One isn’t in a groove. He will learn from this outing and it will make him a better pitcher going forward.
— Hank Conger on the other hand had a horrific night. He went 0 for 4 at the plate but it was his defense that was the real issue. He looked like a litte leaguer in the seventh inning as the Dodgers stole three bases off him strictly due to his poor choices. Conger has got to improve his run defense if he has any hope of being the everyday starter.
— Can we stop with the Bobby Cassavah experiment? I know the cupboard for relief is bare but Bobby is clearly overmatched and has a hard time throwing strikes. Although he only gave up one run he couldn’t stop pitching from behind and that makes him unreliable. It’s time to move him back to the farm.
— At least I was right about Howie Kendrick getting two hits, so that’s something.

We all know Tyler will be good for the long haul, but tonight he was just shy of dreadful.
