Today Jered Weaver is eyeing what could be his 17th win of the season, which would be the highest win total he’s achieved in a single season for him. Lucky for him, the Athletics are countering with an injury ridden Rich Harden. He’s been out a good majority of the season due to injury, something that doesn’t come as a surprise when it comes to Rich Harden. He’s been on the DL 10 times in his career, which is exactly how many major league seasons he’s played in. Earlier in the season the Red Sox had set up a trade to acquire Rich Harden, a deal which fell through after they took a look at his medical records. Harden is no stranger to getting bit in the ass by his lingering medical issues, and today is going to be no different.

Everyone knows that when Jered Weaver sees something he wants, he gets it. This 17th victory is right in Weavers hands and there isn’t a single thing in the world that anybody can do to stop him from getting it, especially if those people are on the A’s. This victory couldn’t be any easier for Weaver, he’s going up against a struggling A’s team and he’s is facing Rich Harden of all people, a guy who isn’t known for his ability to strike fear into hitters. The only thing keeping Weaver away from this win is the Angels horrible luck playing in Oakland. The Athletics aren’t the best baseball team in the world, but for some reason when the Angels roll into town they being to play like they’re the Yankees. This is a concept that strikes both fear and confusion into me; hopefully the Angels will be able to kill the curse with a big victory tonight. They might even pick up a game if they’re lucky.

Will Jered Weaver be able to pick up his 17th win today? (Click here to vote)
