The October 28th, 2011 edition of daily news for the LA Angels including Trumbo’s broken foot was actually hurt for several weeks, the myth of Donnie Moore’s suicide, wondering if Angel fans can root for Nolan Ryan and against the Rangers at the same time and much more…
The Monkey Says: That would explain why he really fell of towards the end of the season, though it makes me wonder if the team knew about this and had him play through it. Not that it was the wrong call if the doctors said he can’t make it worse, but there have a been a number of times the last few seasons an Angel player has hidden injury.
The Monkey Says: I’m not split at all, I want the Rangers to lose. I know Nolan Ryan was one of the greatest Angels, but when I was growing up, he had already left the Angels. I couldn’t have been happier to see the Rangers choke twice in that epic game last night.
The Story: Unraveling the myth of Donnie Moore’s suicide being tied to his infamous blown save.
The Monkey Says: Excuse my language but, holy shit. I never actually thought he killed himself because of that game, but I had no idea about what he did to his wife. I kind of wish I had never read that.
The Monkey Says: It is kind of a goofy metric, but it does show what amazing discipline Abreu has always had. In fact, it is actually a nice reminder that Abreu can still draw walks and work counts even though his power has abandoned him. Heck, he had the second-highest OBP on the Angels last year. I don’t think he should be a starter anymore, but he could still last another year or two in the league playing on a part-time bases.
The Story: Mike Trout talks about his experience thus far in the Arizona Fall League.
The Monkey Says: Man, he even talks about his own development at a skill set beyond his years.
The Story: Check out which Angel legends are playing in this year’s Angels Baseball Foundation Golf Classic.
The Monkey Says: Or don’t, I really don’t care.
