When this series began, it seemed to be set up more perfectly than you could imagine. The Minnesota Twins just allowed the Angels to gain not only three wins, a sweep, and a no-hitter, but a load of confidence. Then last night happened.
Last night’s game was nothing but a bump in the road. When you’ve been driving at 100 mph, you’re bound to hit something.
One cannot stress how important this game, yes this game against the worst team in baseball, is. I have discussed the necessity of momentum in the past, but strolling into Arlington on Friday with anything but momentum will be detrimental to this already struggling team. Going from playing the worst team in baseball to one of the best teams in baseball is similar to leaving 100 degree temperatures in Arizona and returning to 60 degree temperatures in southern California (heh, hey my life…). It’s a change, alright.
With Ervin Santana still looking for his first win and the line up looking to bounce back from yesterday’s mishap, it’s hard to believe that the Halos won’t wake up from their momentary slumber and get the job done today.
Santana must be tired be losing…right?
