HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO WRITE THIS POST IN ANYTHING BUT CAPITAL LETTERS.

Angels 9, Twins 0

Sitting out in right field tonight, I wasn’t sure of what team I was watching on the field and at the plate. It looked like the team that everyone expected to see in their opening series against the Kansas City Royals.

I don’t remember the last time the Angels left me completely speechless.

They were scoring runs, hitting the ball, being aggressive on the base path… This is the team I have been waiting to see all season. And they showed up for the first time, tonight.

Torii Hunter and Howie Kendrick continue to ignite this Halo offense with consistency, and Kendrys Morales and Mark Trumbo decided to join in on the fun with some long ball action from Morales and extra base hits from Trumbo. It was a beautiful thing to see.

But let’s get down to business.

Jered Weaver did absolutely nothing less than dominate the Twins, resulting in the first no-hitter of his career. By the time the 8th inning rolled around, the crowd was on their feet for every pitch, holding their breath, hoping that he’d stay hot.

The electricity that consumed the stadium showed Weaver just how proud Angels fans were of a hometown hero who was about to write another page in the Angels’ history book. In all honesty, I have never felt anymore aniexty than I did when that final out was sailing towards my seat. With Hunter covering right field, I should have known that was simply nothing to worry about.

Weaver threw the game of his life, and that goes without saying. As a lifelong Angel fan and full-time Weaver supporter, I could not be happier for any one person at this moment. If anyone in this organization is deserving of victory of that magnitude, it’s Weaver.

Tonight’s win was the definition of a team win. The offense was there to provide support for the defense, who caught what seemed to be an endless amount of fly-balls. Together, the offense and this defense we saw tonight ultimately helped one man on the mound throw his first no-hitter.

Dream Weaver, baby. Dream Weaver.
