This is the post I make where you guys can kind of tell I’m starting to lose it but I try to keep it veiled, albeit very thinly. The fates would have it that the Angels would squeak ever so closely to knocking the Rangers out of the first, in a very pleasing fashion at that, only for them to just crap out and drop 2.5 games in the standings. There’s still soooo much baseball left to be played and I know that, but my god can they just stop blueballing us for once??? Too much to ask?
What gets to me the most is the fact that their recent struggles have come against a string of NL teams, which the Angels ALWAYS pound on. Except for this season, where the offense has seemingly crapped out in tough spots over the last few series aside from a beatdown laid upon the Colordo Rockies that was so bad I’m pretty sure the local P.D has an aggravated assault warrant out on Mark Trumbo. Besides then the Angels offense has been faltering badly, they’ve crapped out on tough games against the Dodgers, the D’backs (although starting pitching saved them that series), and now the Giants. This is an unfortunate recurring trend that can only broken by an offensive explosion.
Thank the gods Barry Zito is the starter for the Giants tonight, and yeah I know he’s having a pretty decent bounce back year but to me and the rest of baseball he’s still the same Barry Zito that owns the contract that is the bane of GM Brian Sabean’s career. I’m not hoping to see a ridiculously overpaid 4th starter take the mound today, im expecting to see it.
If you’re looking forward to seeing a repeat of the series finale against the Rockies minus the horrible effort by Santana (because we all know nobody can lay a hand on the immaculate C.J Wilson without having their faces melted) then you best buckle up them seat belts baby! I dunno why you guys have seat belts on your couches, that’s weird, but get comfortable because you’re going to see one hell of a ravaging tonight!!!
