Ervin Santana has done it again.

Indians 12, Angels 3

The struggling pitcher lasted a measly 1 1/3 innings in yesterday’s game against the Indians. After giving up 6 runs without going through the line up twice, it seemed more than necessary to remove Santana from the hole he continues to dig himself into.

There’s not much else to say about Santana’s performance yesterday other than, it wasn’t a surprise. It was painful reality. The painful reality that is the Angels’ pitching staff at this present moment.

With Williams still on the DL and Haren as the club’s newest addition, it’s important that the remainder of the rotation step up. We don’t see that problem from Jered Weaver and C.J. Wilson too often, but as a veteran pitcher, it’s time for Santana to shake whatever it is that’s allowed him to pitch this terribly, or he’s going to see someone else walk in and take his spot real soon.
