There is also a story somewhere that I lost the link to where Torii Hunter pretty much volunteered to DH in 2012 to make room for Trout, so you can tell how highly he thinks of him since I have always assumed Hunter would cut off a limb before willingly ceasing to play the field

The Monkey Says: I expected some bloggers out there to try and start poking holes in Trout’s two-homer night, but it seems that he has won just about everyone over.

The Monkey Says: There are some flops on that list, but most of the rest are legends, so Trout is in pretty good company.
The Story: Mike Trout is learning to adapt on the fly.
The Monkey Says: It is just scary to see how good Trout is both mentally and physically. It could be very easy for him to just coast on natural physical talent, but it is pretty clear after reading that article, that he is committed to mentally improving his game too.
The Monkey Says: If he is getting his advice from Vlad, Aybar is never going to learn to take enough pitches to be an adequate leadoff man.
The Story: Jerome Williams feels like he is dreaming to get a second chance at the majors.
The Monkey Says: It really is a great story and you’d pretty much have no heart if you weren’t rooting for the guy.
The Story: Peter Bourjos will play winter ball in Venezuela to keep working on his game.
The Monkey Says: He wants to work on improving his plate discipline, which is a great idea. However, I’m not so sure that him playing winter ball is a great idea since he is likely going to play about 150 games this year. He’s a young kid, but I am always worried about guys exhausting themselves by not really taking a break in the off-season.
