Daily links for the LA Angels including Kazmir heads to the DL, Izturis set to return, the Adenhart trial to stay in the OC and much more.

The Story: The Angels sent Scott Kazmir to the disabled list, activated Maicer Izturis and designated Paul McAnulty for assignment.

The Monkey Says: Sanity prevails.  It looked like Kaz was going to get another shot but now he has “shoulder fatigue” and is DL bound.  That is probably a made up injury though but fatigue is an issue for Kazmir in that Angel fans are tired of watching him get lit up like a Christmas tree.  There is no word yet on who will take his spot, but it should be either Sean O’Sullivan or Trevor Bell.  The good news here though is that Maicer Izturis is back and should take over third base on a majority basis, though the Angels figure to be careful with him so he doesn’t get hurt again.  As for McAnulty, don’t let the door hit you on the way out.

The Story: Matt Palmer is moving up to Triple-A Salt Lake to continue his rehabilitation program.

The Monkey Says: Palmer probably still has a ways to go before being cleared to rejoin the Angels in the majors, but this is still good progress and should eventually give the Angels another rotation option if Scott Kazmir can’t get himself right.

The Story: The trial in the death of Nick Adenhart will remain in Orange County.

The Monkey Says: How has this not gone to trial yet?  Can’t we just throw this piece of trash in the slammer already?

The Story: Torii Hunter is playing to his contract.

The Monkey Says: Hooray!  Some good news from the statheads on the Angels for a change.  Better yet, this is one of the few big contracts the Angels have handed out in recent years that still appears to be a good investment.

The Story: For Fuentes, rest is not best.

The Monkey Says: This all sounds like a clever ruse by Fuentes to convince Mike Scioscia to use him more often and hopefully getting that big vesting option to kick in for next season.  Nice try, Brian, you almost had us there for a second.

The Story: Erick Aybar is turning his season around due to some good brotherly advice.

The Monkey Says: Does anyone else ever notice that when there is a story about an Angel getting good advice on changing their swing or approach at the plate that the advice is coming from someone other than hitting coach Mickey Hatcher?  I’m just saying.

The Story: Mike Scioscia expects Hideki Matsui’s bat to heat up.

The Monkey Says: That sounds a lot more like wishful thinking than anything else.  I wish I could say I was as optimistic as Scioscia, but I just can’t.
