It has been a few weeks, but Twitter Trend Tuesday is back with a vengeance!  Spring Training games haven’t even started yet and it is already painfully obvious that Mike Scioscia is setting us all up to play Jeff Mathis (BOO!) as much as possible, while sending Hank Conger (YAY!) packing for the minors.  But rather than watch this justice unfold unimpeded, it is time to launch a preemptive strike!!!  My friends, it is time to take to Twitter and make yourself heard and demand that the Angels #FreeHankConger!!!!!!

The plan is simple, make yourself heard as often as possible, throwing whatever piece of pro-Conger evidence or whatever anti-Mathis you can on Twitter and maybe we can get someone’s attention (or not, I doubt that Mike Scioscia even knows what Twitter is).

Here are a few sample tweet questions to get those of us with questionable intentions off and running:

Teams that scored 681 runs last season can’t afford to give regular at bats to a career .199 hitter (see Jeff Mathis). #FreeHankConger

Because someone needs to be the offensive yin to Mathis’ punchless yang now that Napoli is gone. #FreeHankConger

Last time the #Angels let a promising offensive weapon repeat Triple-A, it didn’t exactly work out (see Brandon Wood). #FreeHankConger

Hank has barely played in MLB and his ZiPS projections already have him w/ an OPS 136 points higher than Mathis’ career OPS #FreeHankConger

I’ll be tweeting more throughout the day, so follow me or just do a search on the hashtag to follow along with the fun.  I’ll post some of the best contributions to the trending topic at the end of the day, so if you have something good, you get to be featured on the blog (which I am sure would be the highlight of your life).
