- The Story: Kendry Morales leads the Angels in average, homers and RBIs. The Monkey Says: Those gaudy numbers will certainly earn K-Mo some MVP votes, but I suspect he’ll still come up short when compared to Joe Mauer’s ridiculous numbers for a catcher.
- The Story: The Angels added Chris Pettit to the 40-man roster and called him up to the big league team. The Monkey Says: The addition is a nice nod to Pettit after a strong season in Triple-A, but he probably won’t see any game action this year.
- The Story: Brian Fuentes may be struggling because he doesn’t get enough work. The Monkey Says: It is a great point, Tito like to throw everyday and save opportunities have been sparse lately. Hopefully the Angels can get to winning more so Fuentes can find his groove again.
- AL West Update: Texas swept their doubleheader with Cleveland yesterday. The Monkey Says: Texas just refuses to go away and picked up 1/2 a game on the Angels despite LAA winning last night. The AL West lead is now at 4.5 games.
