• The Story: Kendry Morales was named AL Player of the Week.   The Monkey Says: If you aren’t sure how he won the award, just ask the Yankee fan nearest you.
  • The Story: Abreu points Morales in the right direction.   The Monkey Says: Talking with Abreu apparently snapped Kendry out of his slump and onto the hot streak he is on right now.  So, once again, I ask: why do the Angels continue to pretend Mickey Hatcher is really still the pitching coach?
  • The Story: Kendry Morales is becoming dangerous from both sides of the plate.   The Monkey Says: Yes he is and that was definitely one big question K-Mo had to answer this year and the results are very good so far.  He still has to prove he can do it all season long, but at this rate, there is little reason to believe that he can’t consistently produce from either side of the plate.
  • The Story: Does Ryan Howard’s massive contract extension affect Kendry Morales?   The Monkey Says: It is still too early to tell if the two players should be connected, but with Scott Boras as Kendry’s agent, I guarantee you he will find a way to make them seem connected so he can get Morales more money (even if it costs him his soul).
  • The Story: An ejected Yankee fan alleges racism from an Angel usher.   The Monkey Says: The usher was caught on camera giving the fan the finger and has been suspended.  It remains to be seen what exactly the Yankee fan did, though his side of the story makes it sound like he did nothing at all, but I have a very hard time believing that.  If the allegations of racism are true, expect the Halos to have to fork over some money to the fan at some point.
  • The Story: Torii Hunter is playing banged up.   The Monkey Says: Torii just has some bumps and bruises, but given that he will be turning 35 soon, the Angels would be well-advised to make sure he doesn’t wear himself out.
  • The Story: Mike Scioscia lauds Tim Belcher’s work as Cleveland’s pitching coach.   The Monkey Says: No matter what Belcher does as a coach, I am still always going to remember him for his days as an Angel when he caused Chan Ho Park to charge the mound to try and take him out with a flying karate kick.  Good times.
