Daily links for the LA Angels including Aybar done for the year, Bobby Abreu and the 20-20 club, it ain’t easy being Torii Hunter and much more.

The Story: Erick Aybar is officially out for the season with a likely sports hernia.

The Monkey Says: A disappointing end to a disappointing season for Aybar.  His injury is nothing serious, but he still has a lot of work to do this off-season to regain the form that made him a franchise cornerstone back in 2009.

The Story: Bobby Abreu and the 20-20 club.

The Monkey Says: Abreu is already in pretty elite company with his latest 20-20 season, but I am sure the Halos would have rather had him come up shy of 20-20 and hit close to .300 rather than all the way down near .250.

The Story: It ain’t easy being Torii Hunter.

The Monkey Says: Just watching Hunter play, you can see how emotionally pained he has been by the losing season.  Still, you have to respect how he has worked to hard to keep his head up and keep setting a strong example for the rest of the team.

The Story: 12 free agents who could be Angels in 2011.

The Monkey Says: I nearly fell out of my chair laughing at the notion that the Angels would somehow be able to dump Scott Kazmir’s contract.  I guess it doesn’t hurt to dream big though.

The Story: Mike Trout is a big fish in any pond.

The Monkey Says: Only in Single-A still and Mike Trout already has captured the attention and affection of every single Angel fan.  I can’t say that they are wrong though.

The Story: Rancho Cucamonga came up short in the decisive Game 5 of the California League championship series.

The Monkey Says: I guess even the contributions of Mike Trout didn’t prove quite enough to push the Quakes over the top, as they lost extra innings 7-6.  Nonetheless, congrats on a great season to everyone on the Quake roster!
