Winning five in a row for any club is hard, but for the Angels this task might as well be climbing Mount Everest. First off, they have to face Felix Hernandez, who admittedly has not been aces against the Halos, but has a tendency to be a big time stopper in his own right. Then there is the wacky start time. Teams are creatures of routine and a 4:15 start on the west coast has a way of screwing players up. Lastly, it’s a throwback night in Seattle with the Angels rocking some old school LA Angels gear. Some players like this sort of thing, but most would rather play naked then in a one off uni that they are not used to.
So with all that going against them what do we have to hope for? Well, Albert Pujols is raking and that is certainly a welcome sight. Also, Jerome Williams is a more competent number five starter than many teams have so there is a good chance the game will be close. This leads me to review what happened last night, when the M’s threw the game away when things got tight. I have a feeling this one will be a bit wacky and call me crazy, I think it might just work out the Halos way. If that happens there is a real chance the Angels will be in 2nd place by the end of the night. Now that would be truly astounding.
