The February 9th, 2012 edition of daily news for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim including Trumbo cleared for baseball activities, Keith Law ranks the Angel farm system 15th best, the Angels are heavily featured the 2012 MLB on FOX schedule and much more…

The Story: Mark Trumbo has been cleared for baseball activities.

The Monkey Says: This is obviously good news, but since it comes with the caveat that the crack in his foot still isn’t fully healed, setting us up for a potential setback in a few weeks.  The most important thing here is that Mark can finally start practicing at third base.

The Story: Keith Law’s annual organizational rankings have the Angels with the 15th best farm system.

The Monkey Says: Law ranked the Angels 6th last year, so this is a bit of a fall, but it really isn’t that bad considering that the Halos graduated Trumbo, Walden, Conger and Amarista.  It will be hard for the Angels to rebound for 2013 though since they gave up so many high picks as compensation for their free agent signings and will likely have Mike Trout graduate from prospect status as well.

The Story: The Angels are heavily featured the 2012 MLB on FOX schedule.

The Monkey Says: The Halos are slated to be televised at least eight times in the 22 weekends of FOX’s nationally televised games.  Of course, if you don’t live in the right area, you get screwed out of seeing them, so this is actually a bad thing for people like me.

The Story: Breaking down the Angels roster heading into Spring Training.

The Monkey Says: This is just a high level look at who will be fighting for the last few roster spots on the Angel roster as there aren’t really any major position battles facing the Angels when they arrive in Tempe.

The Story: Former Angel Horacio Ramirez inspires an awful usage of Twitter.

The Monkey Says: This is what happens on slow news days.  Honestly, I don’t know why anyone cares about Horacio Ramirez at all.

The Story: Vote for Ricky Marquez from LA Angels Insider for MLB Fan Cave.

The Monkey Says: I already linked to this yesterday, but I want to do it again because Ricardo deserves to go.
