Don’t look now but the Angels are right in the thick of the wid card hunt. They are currently tied with the Orioles and the Rays for the top two wild card spots. This is nice to see given the horrendous start the team got off to and the fact that 2/5 of their starting rotation has been less than stellar. That’s right, I’m looking at your Ervin Santana. Santana was awesome his last time out but prior to that most people were calling for his relegation to the bullpen. Santana has been the poster child for the up and down season the Angels have been having. His stabilization is certainly key to the Halos having real October aspirations.
The other aspect of today’s game is the chance to kick the Dodgers while they are down. This is something those of us who hate the Dodgers are enjoying. The Dodger fans are one of the most arrogant bunch of folks around and any opportunity to beat up on the blue crew should be welcomed with open arms. It won’t be easy with the resurgent Chris Capuano on the hill. The Angels struggle with soft tossing left handers and Capuano fits that bill. But it should be fun to watch the Angels smack the Dodgers around once again.
